Prince Towe flees his mountain kingdom under threat of assassination. His only traveling comrade is a young priestling, Pie, whose talents include seersaying and sorcery. Their encounters along the roadway include the obligatory dragon, despairing damsels, assorted ruffians and various magical beings. Does true love await Towe in the arms of a foreign princess who has sent him a written proposal of marriage? Will Pie Discover in the Nyssian sacred forest the nature of his strange inheritance? Or will the two adventurers die upon the blade of the evil General’s sword?
