William and Alice lived in Santon parish.
William was probably born in Santon in 1713 and christened on 1st May 1714. This is the earliest recorded Karran birth in Santon parish.
His father is likely to have been William christened 29 March 1684 in Marown (no mother's name recorded).
William and Alice Gell were married on 18 Nov 1738 in Santon.
The children were all christened in Santon.
The eldest boy, Tom may well have been christened twice as there is another recorded christening entry for Alice Gell being the mother of 'Willam' (sic) with the father recorded as Tom. There are no other Karran mothers called Alice Gell. I suggest Will and Alice lived and probably farmed at Santon. When Tom was born they took him to be christened again at Marown where William's parents now lived. The vicar mispelt Will's name and put the father's name in the son's place and vice versa.
Might Peter be the ancestor of the Peter who served with the Ohio military in the US Civil War?
