ConCarolinas 2007
In June of 2007 Bodie was invited to be the media guest of honor at ConCarolinas in Charlotte, North Carolina. Having never participated in anything quite this before, Bodie agreed to attend and anticipated having a great time. That’s exactly what he had. Amidst the flurry of fans, autograph seekers, costumed visitors, and game players, Bodie was kept busy going from one activity to another.
"Being my first convention ever, North Carolina's ConCarolina couldn't have been better.  The anticipation leading up to it and during it was so exciting.  It meant so much to be invited as the Media Guest of Honor.  It was incredible!"

There were several gaming rooms at the convention, one of which was an ongoing “Battlestar Galactica" game. Bodie gave the players a huge thrill when, at the appropriate moment, Hot Dog Costanza stepped forward to personally address the ‘Nuggets.”
The people were welcoming, warm, and full of enthusiasm.  Everything was there from Star Wars to "Battlestar Galactica" fans, from animation voice actors and sci-fi novelists, to expert gamers and costumes that made me feel like I was actually on a movie set.

Bodie being interviewed by Kelly

In an hour long scheduled interview called “Hanging with Hot Dog,” Bodie was asked questions by Fan Guest of Honor and radio host Kelly Lockhart. After the formal interview, there was a Q&A with the audience.

Bodie was asked to judge the costume contest, not an easy task since so many were unique, interesting, and very well done.
I really had a great time especially being a judge at the costume contest.  It was interesting because after viewing all of the contestants, three of us left, discussed each possible winner of the categories, and came back with the results.  It was so exciting to actually participate and learn how conventions are done.

All in all I had a great time, it was a positive experience, and I look forward to more in the future. Thank you everybody who made it such a memorable experience!!
