BEAU HUNKS Orchestra
(Title Music: The Moon and You)

The Dutch Beau Hunks orchestra, named after the title of a Laurel & Hardy film, specializes in American film music - in particular, the music of Hal Roach's Laurel & Hardy comedies of the 1930s. Since 1992, the Beau Hunks have been reconstructing the works of the composers of this music, most notably Leroy Shield (1893-1962), whose sweetly jaunty composition The Moon and You is played ironically over Weeping Shriner's opening title sequence. The original recordings and sheet music to Shields' compositions are assumed lost, but thanks to music researcher Piet Schreuders and the Beau Hunks' talented arrangers, these tunes are now gaining a new lease of life. The Beau Hunks' CDs are available through BASTA Music.
