A Fairy Tale

by Karen Hermann & KC

One day long ago, there lived a girl named Regrutzel. She had long, long, long, long frizzy red hair. She hated to comb it. One day, she looked at her matted, lice infested locks and decided to take a drastic measure. She washed her hair. All the servants had her hair spread about the room, combing and combing until out of the hair crawled an old woman.

"I am Olga," she said, "and I know your future. You will soon have an affair with a sloth."

"Oh shut up, you old bag!" screamed Regrutzel as she stabbed the old woman with the comb until she left, leaving Regrutzel with her servants, who looked at her with longing. They had always wanted to fondle her long, long, long frizzy red hair and gnaw on the lice infested matted parts. Now they would have their chance.

"Wait!" screamed one, "Pull them out and we can fry them!"

"Oh what a wonderful idea, fried lice!" cried another.

Anyway, Regrutzel sat and sat for days and both her legs fell asleep. She attempted to walk but it was to no avail.

"Carry me across the room!" she demanded. Instead of doing this, her servants played the album from Saturday Night Fever, driving her crazy because they were all dancing and she could not.

"Please!" she screamed out so loud that the music stopped.

They all stared at her angrily, and one of the servants said, "Don't worry, my dear, you'll get your chance to dance now." With that they tied strings to her arms, legs and head, and forced her to to dance like a puppet.

"Let's make her dance on top of the stove with all the burners going!" said one.

"Great idea!" shouted the others.

Regrutzel danced as if she were dancing on hot coals. Finally they let her down and untied her. Then she beat them all to the pulp.
