RANDY'S CLAY MONSTER

by KC

Randy Valdez reached into his secret hiding place behind one of the slats of his brother's bunk bed, which was above his own. He pulled out the clay monster he had made the day before. Today, while his mother was at bridge club, he planned to bake it in the oven, and then paint it.

Soon the monster was on the top grill in the oven, while Randy watched it thru the oven window, as the temperature rose. Much to his dismay, the monster's head developed a crack as it dried, and then fell off.

The rest of the body stayed in one piece, tho, so Randy decided he'd be able to glue the head back on before he painted the monster.

After awhile, Randy decided the monster had been baked enough, and took it out of the oven, with his mother's pot holder. Without thinking, he put it on the plastic table cloth, where it immediately melted a hole down to the formica beneath it. Randy then moved his monster to the freezer to cool off properly in the ice, with its head placed next to it.

He planned to tell his mother that the hole in the tablecloth had been made by a burglar that he'd chased off. Unfortunately, Randy forgot to remove the monster from the freezer.
