Machining details:   80,000 RPM, 160 IPM, DOC .05 Inch, 1/8" 4 flute ball nose end mill, with the newer controllers being able to execute 1,000 to 2,000 blocks a second this type of work should only take about 4 Min. depending upon the level of detail you want.

This program was purchased by Licom Systems and is now a module in there Computer Aided Manufacturing Program called AlphaCAM.

These examples I have here were made on the first version of TIF2DXF.  As a Module of AlphaCAM upgrades and improvements have been made.  The newest version converts TIF or BMP formats and  is scheduled for released near December 1999. For example it smoothes the curves formed from the different heights corresponding to different gray scales instead of changing height in steps. It also has a mode that optimizes the points to make a good smooth surface with the minimum number of points per strip, to keep the file size down to a reasonable size.

 Note about Licom

Licom Systems is the first company to incorporate Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications into a CAM program.  This placed Licom Systems way ahead of all others because of the level of customization in the hands of the user.  Basically anything you want you can have or change in the system from custom applications to the GUI should you choose.
