| Evacuation | The protective action that entails the notification of evacuation actions and procedures. An evacuation directive would involve movement of the entire population from the Emergency Planning Zone, and is a worst-case situation. |

| Reception Center | A predesignated site outside the plume exposure pathway EPZ through which evacuees needing mass care support will pass to obtain information and directions to an appropriate Mass Care Center. The Reception Center for East Pikeland Township is the West Whiteland Township Building on Route 100 at Swedesford Road in Exton. |
| Recovery | Actions taken over a protracted period of time to repair any physical damages to facilities/property and restore the governmental, economic and social structure of the community. |

| Relocation | Actions implemented during recovery to exclude persons from returning to restricted areas. |
| Return | The permanent return of citizens to areas determined by the State to be safe for occupancy. |

| Risk Municipality | A Municipality having land area within the plume exposure pathway EPZ of a fixed nuclear facility. |
| Route Alerting | A "back-up" to the public alert system that is implemented in the event of public alert system failure (indiviual or multiple siren failure). A municipal responsibility accomplished by designated route alert teams travelling in public address equipped vehicles along assigned routes. |
| Sheltering | Action by the public to take advantage of the protection against radiation exposure afforded by remaining indoors, away from doors and windows, during and following the passage of the radioactive plume. |
| State of Disaster Emergency | Exists whenever the Governor issues a declaration of disaster emergency. Declared by executive order or proclamation of the Governor at any time upon finding that a disaster has occurred or that the occurrence or the threat of a disaster is imminent. The state of disaster emergency continues until the Governor finds that the threat or danger has passed and terminates it by executive order or proclamation, but no state of disaster emergency may continue for longer than 90 days unless renewed by the Governor. |
