Burlington Area Events

Practicing First Aid At The Area Sixer/Second Camp

Each year, the Burlington Area Service Team assists groups in the planning and operation of a wide range of fun, adventurous, and exciting activities for each section.  From Co-Op to Cuboree, from White Tail Camp to Haliburton, there's an activity for every season.  Events are open to any group in Burlington, and are often open to groups from outside the Area.  Check with Scout House for details.

Information is available on this web site for the following events:

NOTE: For Event Coordinators, or groups interested in hosting an event, an Event Proposal Form is now available online.  This form is to be filled out and returned to the Area Commissioner a minimum of 2 months prior to the event.

Haliburton Composite Camp
July 26 - August 2, 2008 - Haliburton Scout Reserve
SCOUTS, VENTURERS

Each summer, Burlington Area sends a contingent of Scouts and Venturers on a one-week camp at the 5,000-acre Haliburton Scout Reserve. The reserve is located northeast of the town of Haliburton on Lake Kennabi.

Activities typically include a hiking out trip as well as canoeing, a water regatta, fishing derby, rifle and archery range activities, repelling and opportunities to develop new Scouting skills.

Check out our Haliburton page to find out more information about this exciting event, or contact 2008 Camp Chief Phil Power at 905-336-8162

CO-OP Camp: Clue
September 26 - 28, 2008 - Camp Manitou
SCOUTS, GUIDES, PATHFINDERS

Jointly organized by the Area and Escarpment Area Guiding for 30 years, Co-Op has grown to become the event of the Guiding / Scouting year.

The purpose of the event is to enable members of Girl Guides and Scouts to live, work and play together in a fun situation common to both organizations. This will help them realize their similarities (in interests, challengers & skills) and make them aware of areas where they can help each other.

The program involves physical (active) activities during the day and a late Saturday evening with a dance & movies. Leader discretion is advised as to younger campers attending.

Further information can be found on our Co-Op 2008 Website or email: campchief@coopcamp.org
