"LOST AND FOUND" WE WANT TO HEAR YOUR STORY IF SOMEONE HAS LOCATED YOU THROUGH THIS SITE, OR IF YOU MIGHT HAVE FOUND SOMEONE THAT WAS LOST FROM YOUR LIFE. TELL US YOUR SUCCESS STORY THAT YOU HAVE ENCOUNTERED WITH REUNITING ONCE AGAIN WITH A CHILDHOOD FRIEND. Montero24 Hi, my name is Marlene and thanks to the Official Canarsie Web Site my friend and I found each other after 15 yrs! We 1st met in the 4th grade in PS 272. That was in 1957! We were were friends forever, we lost touch through the years. I've been posting messages on every board that I could. Finally on Saturday, Feb 27th I got a phone call giving me Beth's phone number. She's sitting right next to me as I'm writing this and guess what? It's still Feb 27th.
EYEZEN001 Through this web site I have reconnected with quite a number of people from Canarsie that I haven't seen or spoken to in up to over 30 years. Been reunited with: Eileen Ingber Friedman, Danny Schulman, Richie White, Arleen Schatz Karetny, Paul Karetny, Angelo Capasso, Kenny Karp, Helene Boykoff, Sandee Rosenfeld, Rhonda Levine, and more. Having left NY in 1975 it is a treat to be in touch with these fine people. I look forward to hearing from more old friends. RStein7318 Back in July I found this website. I was looking for for a friend of mine that in High School we did everything together. I moved out of New York in 1977. I havent seen her in about 25 years. So I put an ad on the Canarsie website. I kept checking for an answer and never found anything. Then on Friday September 18th 1998, I received a E-mail from her it was wonderful. she sent me her phone number and I called her we talked for about 2 hours about what we did as teenagers and where we are now. It was incredible. Thank you so much for all the help. This is a wonderful place to find people that were part of our lives at one time. Randi Stein (Sarner) a.brandt@worldnet.att.net
Hi, my name is Andrea (Gordon) Brandt I am on the left of the above photo and Hedda Jason is on the right. We both graduated Canarsie High School in 1969. This picture was taken in April 1998 in Pasadena, CA. I got Hedda's phone number through someone I met on this website. I was going to be in Pasadena in April and when I found out that was where Hedda lived, I called her and we set up a time to meet. We spent all day together and it was as if we had seen each other just yesterday and not almost thirty years ago. Brucebrod Enid from Bayview My memories of Bayview Projects are sometimes vague, since we moved when I was 10 years old (early 1966). However, one of my sharpest memories is of Enid. Our families were pretty close, especially summertime at the Seaview Yacht Club. We'd run around, have fights, go swimming, play shuffleboard; ah, the good times of being a kid.... I'd watch Enid's dad Sid play volleyball, and because of this, to this day I am an avid volleyball player myself. Then, Sunday nights we'd always go out to eat together, either on Flatlands Avenue (Wetson's, the Gold Mine), or on Cross Bay Blvd (Panar Pancakes,Pizza City). Anyway, I never thought I would again encounter the girl who sang Beatle's songs in my ear obnoxiously because the Beatles were coming to the States; the girl who I made believe I hated because I was shy and a whole year younger than; or the girl who I have a vague recollection of watching a lunar eclipse with on the Bayview terrace one night along with others; or the girl I slapped so hard in the tush one time that I still can't believe I remember that to this day (Enid, can I apologize many decades later?) Well, we both got onto AOL. I caught her name on some Canarsie list. I emailed her, apologizing if she didn't remember me, and fully expecting her NOT to. Well, when she IM'd me back that I was "the smart kid with the skinny legs who shivered when he came out of the swimming pool", I knew she remembered! I am so glad we are in touch. I am also very happy that she is doing quite well: married a Bayview guy (always a good move!), three children, house in New Jersey. Also, you can see that she grew up to be extremely attractive, as I knew she would. Enid, continued good luck to you, and stay in touch! Bruce
Franny36 About 4 weeks ago I received an e-mail from a friend of mine who I haven't seen in over 11 years. She was surfing the web and came across the Canarsie web site. She saw my name and promptly contacted me. We met at Kingsborough College about 20 years ago and had some wonderful times together. Unfortunately we lost touch in the mid-80's, but thanks to this website we were reunited. She still lives in the NewYork area and I am now in Florida, but we can communicate via E-mail and of course by phone (which my phone bill will prove since we spoke for over 2 hours last week, LOL). I check this website on a daily basis in the hopes of finding some more of my long lost friends. Thanks again for this wonderful website. Franny
