Brigitta Winkler lebt in Berlin und New York. Sie studierte in Berlin Ballet and Modern Dance. 1980 entdeckte sie Tango Argentino. 1985 Aufenthalt in Paris. Auftritte im Troittior de Buenos Aires, Paris. Anschliessend Tour und Auftritte in Montreal und Toronto. Regelmässige Studienaufenthalte in Buenos Aires. Unterricht bei Juan Carlos Copes, Antonio Todaro, Pepito, Gustave Naveiro und Eduardo Arquimbau.

1987 gründete sie zusammen mit ihrer Tanzpartnerin Angelika Fischer das Studio Tanzart in Berlin. Als Frauentanzpaar arbeiten sie u.a. mit dem Klaus Gutjahr Ensemble oder mit Juan Jose Musalini jun. Seit 1995 ist sie auch Tangolehrerin im New Yorker Dance Manhattan Studio. Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als Tanzlehrerin und Tänzerin erarbeitete sie folgende Choreographien 1993: Tango Marathon im Theaterhaus Stuttgart, 1995: .Tango Vision - Podewil, Berlin, 1996: Tango Mundo - Podewil, Berlin, 1996-2001; Tango Mujer -Symphonie Space, Town Hall, New York, Podewil, Berlin und Dance Festival Colorado.

Von 1991-1995 absolvierte sie ein Training in Body Mind Centering mit Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, in Amherst, Mass, zur Zeit 2000-2 studiert sie authenic movement im Naropa Institut in Boulder ,Co. Ihre Arbeit speziell Unterricht ist massgeblich beeinflusst von ihren Studien.2001 erhielt sie das Stipendium für Choreographie von der Djerrassi Foundation, Kalifornien.

2005 gründete sie in Berlin das Studio "phynix tanzt", Sudio für Tango Argentino, Modern Dance, Yoga..

 

 
Brigitta Winkler is a curious woman. She likes tradition and innovation and has 
been dancing tango for over 20 years. She divides her time between New York and 
Berlin. Her first stage appearance was in 1986 in Montreal’s Tangoshow. She teaches 
at Festivals in USA, Germany, Italy and Russia. 2005 she openend her own Tangocenter 
called Phynix Tanzt in Berlin. Brigitta studied Authentic Movement and incorporates 
a four year program of Body Mind Centering into her approach. Besides working 
with TangoMujer she loves to work with Tomas Howlin, (B.A.). Together they have

Currently she studies authentic movement at the Naropa Institute in Boulder, Co with Zoe Avstreik.grants for choreography from the Djerrassi Foundation, California 2001
