a Buck Magnet Deer Feeder in the wild
![]()
Deer hunters know that exceptional antler development depends on a readily available source of nutrition throughout the growing season. Now, with inexpensive and easy to build Buck Magnet Deer Feeders, you can attract and grow your own Trophy Buck. You'll be able to easily scout out that Trophy Buck because you'll know exactly where they're going to congregate – at your feeder, and you'll be providing the proper nutrition to facilitate the rapid development of Trophy Quality Antlers. You'll attract deer from all over with any of these economical and easy to build deer feeders.
You will receive plans that allow you to build inexpensive and durable Buck Magnet Deer Feeders of varying capacities that are easily refilled. There are two basic designs with variations of feed delivery and feed capacity for a total of six different deer feeders which are easily constructed, tree mounted (hanging or pole mounting is possible) and permit free feeding by the deer. I prefer a few small capacity deer feeders around the perimeter of my large capacity Buck Magnet Deer Feeder. They are so inexpensive and quick to make that several deer feeders are easy to build. Putting a variety of feed in them assures wide appeal among the deer population and a proper nutritional balance to promote massive and rapid antler development .
The materials needed to make these feeders are readily available from the local hardware store (you probably have some of the materials around now). I spent less than $20.00 to build the smallest feeder (about 30 lb. capacity) and less than $30.00 dollars to build the large feeder (about 300 lb. capacity). It has taken me more than a year to develop these designs. I have modified the original designs several times in order to optimize the mix of capacity and materials. The result is a variety of Buck Magnet Deer Feeders that are easily constructed out of readily available inexpensive materials which will hold up to the elements and relentless usage by the animals. These are feeders that will last. The simplest design can be built in about an hour. Along with your plans, I will also include some tips on placement of the Buck Magnet Deer Feeder, feeds to use, and other tips on attracting and growing deer that are worth hunting.

For your information:
In preparation for the 97 early bow season, I placed two feeders in
the woods at a spot not regularly visited by deer. The feeders sat there
for weeks with no apparent usage. The animals just didn't know they were
there and the scent of the feed was not sufficient to draw them from their
normal path. I began searching for something so aromatic and so irresistible
that it would draw them off their normal path to investigate. I found it.
I covered the bottom of the feeder with it and placed it on nearby trees
to further disburse the aroma. Within just a few days, the small feeder
was empty and the large one had significant usage as well. Now I spread
it around whenever I return to refill the feeders. I was amazed that an
area previously unvisited could become so heavily used in such a short
time. The ground is all torn up around both feeders, there are scrapes,
rubs and droppings all over. This location has become part of the routine
of the local deer population - it wasn't before. I'm trying to create "Pavlov's
Deer". I want them to know that when they smell this --- It's Feeding Time!
I'll include information on this as well.
The 1997/98
was the first year that I had the feeders up and filled for the entire
year -- it was the most successful hunting season in the seven years that
I had hunted that property and I still use them. I hunt a parcel
of land that's about 60 acres. The owner of an adjacent parcel (about 80
acres) and I have become fairly close and so we hunt across each others
boundary without paying much attention. I continue to be the most successful
hunter on the entire 140 acres. This year there were several deer taken,
one Doe and three Buck. Any trophy buck? Yes!
There was a magnificent deer taken on the adjacent parcel about 75 yards
from the feeders. That animal had a beautiful rack - a wide spread with
long tines that swept back in to form a spinney basket. Sorry, no camera
was available on that kill, but here's a medium sized Buck that I took
a few days later. Face it!-- Sometimes someone
else will get the best deer you've been feeding. Relax, there's always
next year. Good things come to those with patience (and persistence).
