Yellow Eye, GEALCO

The Buffalo Southern Railroad (BSOR) is a locally owned Class III Common Carrier shortline railroad company105 at ConAgra Pict. Located in Western New York State, the mainline of the BSOR runs southward out of Buffalo towards Jamestown on a segment of 32 miles. The right of way, also referred to as Line 1246 is owned by Erie County. The BSOR operates the line on a lease with the Erie County Industrial Development Agency.

Traveling south from Buffalo, the railroad passes through prime industrial, residential and agricultural lands. Also having some of the best interchange connections at Buffalo (BC Junction), freight rates are competitive. Connections with all Class 1 railroads in Buffalo include the Norfolk Southern, CSX, Canadian Pacific and the Buffalo and Pittsburgh. Connections at Gowanda with the New York and Lake Erie extend the rail network farther south.

The BSOR's corporate office is located in Eden, New York. Only 15 miles south of Buffalo on Route 62, Eden is 1.5 miles from Interstate 90 Exit 52A. The line offers easy access to US Routes 20 and 5, State Routes 249, 179, 75 and 39 as well as Interstate 90, with all only short distances from sites along the BSOR. This makes the railroad perfectly situated for all customer needs both in rail sidings and vehicle traffic accessibility.

Locomotive and Rail Car Maintenance facilities are located online in a 7000 square foot shop.

With fuel costs rising and highway congestion getting worse, railroads offer an excellent advantage in moving your products! Contact the BSOR to discuss your needs.
