I was fortunate in recent days to come across what I found to be a wonderful book. I was, oddly enough, meeting with a dear old friend in a quaint cafe in Baltimore when this masterful work quickly became the topic of discussion. I had never heard of the author before but two cups of cappuccino and a biscotti later, I realized that her talent would not go unnoticed for long.
Not since Walter Mosley has an author so captivated my imagination with such vivid, complex characters, and a story line leaving me wanting to read on even after the story concluded.
Few modern day authors have the ability that Bernadette Connor has been blessed with. Fewer still, have the ability to weave a tale that enwraps the reader, leaving them searching for a little bit of themselves in the protagonist. All the while hoping to find answers to just some of life's many questions.

About The Author
Bernadette Y. Connor was born and raised in North Philadelphia. While still in high school, she embarked on a musical career and was well known on the east coast as an accomplished vocalist.
A graduate of vocational school, Ms. Connor became a communications technician for AT&T, climbing telephone poles in an era when such an activity was a rarity for a woman -- and, according to her coworkers, accomplishing it with perfectly manicured nails and never a hair out of place!
A single mom, she managed to purchase a house while her three children were still young and see that they all excelled from kindergarten through college. It was this kind of determination, coupled with a compulsion to express herself, which led to her decision to achieve recognition through writing.
The completion of four novels and the perfection of her craft were primarily accomplished in the wee hours of the morning while her children slept.
