of Drake Stevens and Morris Dunlar. I do not lay claim to the primary
characters.
Situation: Everyone has finished their freshman
year of college. They have all come back to Pacific Coast for the
summer. They are meeting at Sharkey's for the first time in a year.
*********************************************************
Jake enters Sharkey's to find everyone sitting
at their favorite table catching up on old times.
"Hey, guys!" yells Jake as he approaches the
gang.
"Jake! ," replies the gang in unison. Tiffani
stands to greet him. "Hey, honey."
"Hey, baby," replies Jake. "How are you?"
"Great, now that you're here," Tiff says grinning
ear to ear.
Sly snickers, "Aww . . . how sweet. Her
life is complete again." He receives a glare from Jake and Tiffani.
"Kidding guys."
"So, how is everyone?" Jake asks while grabbing
a chair and sitting next to Tiff. "How was your first year of college?"
"Great!" Sly answers. "I met lots
of babes." Lorena stares at him in disgust. "And they all hate
me." Sly is afraid of Lorena.
A messenger enters carrying some dead, black roses.
"Tiffani Smith?" he asks.
"Right here," she answers.
"I was told to deliver these to you," the messenger
continues. "I'm not going to ask why." He hands the flowers
to Tiffani, then leaves.
"Oh, no!" Tiffani starts to tremble.
"He's here!"
"WHO?!?" Jake questions in jealousy.
Still shaking, Tiff answers. "Back in Hawaii,
a couple weeks ago, I started getting these calls."
"What kind of calls?" implores Lorena.
Tiff starts to cry. "Threatening calls."
Curiously Mark asks, "From whom?"
"I don't know. He called and left messages
regularly, and kept sending me stuff like this." She holds up the
flowers.
"Did you call the police?" Sam questions.
"Yeah, " Tiff replies, "but when I left to come
here, they hadn't come up with any leads. And now he's here."
She is sobbing now.
Jake takes her hand and holds her.
Just then a man walks through the door, catching
Jake's eye.
"Drake?" Jake calls to him. "Drake
Stevens?"
"Jake Sommers, well I can't believe it," the
man replies as he walks toward the table.
"What are you doing here?" Jake wonders.
"Business," Drake replies. Upon seeing
Tiffani, he inquires, "You're Tiffani Smith right?"
Tiff nods, still crying.
Curious now Jake asks, "You know Tiffani?"
Drake responds, "Yes, I was called in to work
her case here in Pacific Coast."
Everyone looks at each other curiously.
Drake pulls out a badge, "U.S. Marshall Drake Stevens."
Jake is shocked.

At Lorena's Loft . . .
Jake and Tiffani sit down on the couch, Jake still
comforting her. Sly and Mark head to the refrigerator. Sam
and Lorena sit down on the stage. Tony turns to talk to Drake who
has taken a seat by the steps.
"So, Drake," Tony asks, "How long have you been
on the case?"
"Just since Tiffani came to Pacific Coast," replies
Drake. "I was assigned to watch her while she's here."
"And you know Jake from . . . ?" Tony pauses.
"We were in a biker club back in school . . .
before he came to PCH," Drake replies.
"I'd love to continue down memory lane guys,"
Jake interrupts, "but can we get back to issue at hand."
"Sure, but I have to tell you that I wouldn't
normally discuss a case with anyone but the person involved. However,
you obviously all care a lot about Tiffani, so I will make an exception
this time, if she doesn't mind."
Tiff shakes her head in approval.
"We really don't have anything solid yet, but
that can change," Drake continues. "By the way, anything I say CAN'T
leave this room."
"You can trust me," Sly interjects.
Everyone glares at him.
"Hey, give me a little credit," Sly defends.
"We're talking about Tiff's life here."
Tiff smiles in appreciation.
"So, you got a letter from him here?" Drake questions.
"Yeah," Jake replies. "It says he is in
Pacific Coast."
"This means he knows where Tiffani lives," Drake
states.
Tiff gasps.
Lorena sees Tiffani's response and offers, "Maybe
Tiff should stay here while she is in town."
"Yeah," Sam agrees. "She can stay in my room
with me."
"And I'm staying right here on this couch," Jake
adds.
Mark comments, "I don't think that is necessary,
Jake."
"I don't care," Jake protests. "I'm not
letting Tiffani out of my site until this guy is behind bars."
Tiff snuggles up to him in affection. Tony
agrees, "Then I'll stay with you."
Drake gets up to leave. "Well, you guys
work this out. Here is my card," handing it to Tony. "If you
hear from him again, let me know. I'm staying at the hotel up the
road here." Drake walks out.
"Come on Tiff, let's go get some stuff from your
house," Jake says as he helps Tiff up.
"Yeah, while you do that, I'll go to my house
and get my stuff, then swing by Jake's and grab his," Tony adds.
"Right," Jake agrees. "We'll meet back
here in one hour." He and Tiff leave for her house. Tony walks
them out.
"I'll go make room for Tiff in my room," Sam
gets up and heads to her room.
"I'll help," Lorena follows.
"I guess we can just watch TV until they get
back," Mark states as he grabs the remote and sits down on the couch.
"Yeah, I guess," Sly agrees.
************************************************************
At Tiffani's house . . .
Jake opens the door and follows Tiffani in.
"I'll wait here while you get your stuff," Jake
tells her.
"Thanks," Tiff kisses him, then heads upstairs.
Jake grabs a magazine and takes a seat on the
couch. Suddenly, Tiff shrieks from upstairs. Jake runs up to
find her standing at her door trembling. She spots Jake and starts
to cry.
Jake looks in her room. "OH MY GOD!" he
exclaims.
