Hexagraph ~ 7.5’~ 2pc ~ 2.9 oz. ~ 3-4 wt. ~ As New ~ Sometime during the 1980’s Jim Bruce and Ken Walker of England’s Bruce and Walker, Ltd. were trying to create light weight, strong alternatives for the long and heavy salmon rod. At the same time, Walton E. Powell, son of the famed U.S. bamboo and rod pioneer, and a genuine pioneer in synthetics, had been working on building fly rods applying cane tapers to graphite materials. The challenge was to build a graphite rod with the smooth casting feel of cane, but without negative characteristics such as maintenance, weight, and cost. The collaboration of Bruce, Walker, and Powell resulted in the Hexagraph fly rod. This rod features burgundy silks tipped black, quality chrome guides, and smooth and tight fitting N/S ferrules. Comfortable light cigar grip continues down into the cork seat with dual slide band hardware. Petite N/S WC. Folding HK. Inked on the butt section is the following: "Hexagraph” 7’6” M. 3-4 wt. #6291801.” Comes in the original 2 compartment bag labeled bag and black labeled aluminum tube. The medium-fast action throws accurate loops with a Cortland Clear Creek WF-4. A unique rod with an interesting pedigree. $350
