Grant is out of U-Ch/AKC Ch. Redbud Kingsbury Irish Creme HCT by U-Ch/AKC Ch. Heart of Gold Saint Nicholas HT PT HCT JHD. This litter was very special to me as it represented our first "home conceived" breeding, using one of our own studs. His pedigree can be seen here

At eight weeks old, Grant was placed in a show home where he unfortunatley didn't "work out". He returned home at 6 and 1/2 months old with a broken heart and a broken leg. Requiring a lot of resocializtion and gentle training, he moved in and found his place in the pack. He got along wonderfully and we were very happy to have him home.
Not long after his return home, he went to his first show, the Bluebonnet Regional Specialty held at the huge Astrohall Series of Dog Shows in Houston, Texas.
With almost no training and absolutely no exposure to crowds and large buildings, he did quite well, taking second in his Sweepstakes class and third in regular 6-9 puppies. His Sweepstakes win is shown left.
His second weekend out  was the large shows in San Antonio, Texas where he picked up both majors. He was shown by his good friend, Connie Haschke, who patiently taught him that dog shows can be fun!
Grant finished with FOUR majors at the Abilene Kennel Club show January 31, 1999
Grant has now gone on to bigger and better things. Feeling that he should have his own family, we placed him in a wonderful home where he is a beloved family member and retired show dog/couch potato extraordinaire!
UPDATE: Grant got out of his property by crossing a cattle guard that he NEVER approached and  was killed by a car. As sad as it is, I still feel that he lived a far better life after his initial "rescue" and died a happy, fufilled dog...
Grant was DNA tested genetically clear for PRA
