Who is the Buddha ? He is
the fully enlightened one. His name is Siddhartha Gauthama. He was born to a royal
family in the northern most part of Ancient India, on a full moon day of May
, in the year 623 B.C.
He renounced the throne and all the worldly pleasures,
and went forth seeking for the eternal happiness and emancipation. After a
great struggle, he attained the Buddha hood. The doctrine of the Buddha is
unique. It could not be expounded by any ascetic, priest, god, mara, Brahma
or other being in this world.
The compassionate one's words of wisdom have been
studied and disseminated all over the world out of compassion by the
intelligentsia during the last 26 centuries.
Who so ever need to know about the real nature of life and the world, and
who so ever seek calm, peaceful mind and happiness, learn, practice and
realize the teaching of the Buddha.
BUDDHISM:
The Buddha lived in northern India around 500 BC. For 45 years after he
became enlightened, the Buddha taught a way of living and methods of mental
training that lead to increasing levels of inner security, contentment and
happiness.
One does not have to convert to Buddhism to benefit from the teachings of
the Buddha. You only need to be willing to start giving up old habits which
have failed to bring you peace of mind.
