A New Birdwatcher

After living here, just west of Mount Rainier,  for over ten years, I have discovered that there are birds living here, too!  I began feeding them one winter and have had lots of entertaining visits over the past few years.  My feeders aren't fancy and I don't spend a lot of money on the food, but they seem to enjoy coming here nevertheless.

This site is to share some of the bird pictures I have taken, at home and elsewhere.  It is also to show the simple feeders we have built which seem to serve their purpose well and to give some of the food ideas I have gleaned from various sources and put to work here.  There is also a page to help you choose a bird book, if you are just starting in this increasingly popular pasttime.

I hope you enjoy your visit to this site as much as the birds seem to enjoy their visits to my yard.  E-mail me to let me know what you think of it.
