Hi I would
like to welcome you to my site. My name is Alan Camp aka:"Hollywood"
Captain Caveman I live in Georgia I am a member of the National Speleological
Society (NSS). I am also the new Chair of the Lost Mountain Cavers
Grotto of the NSS, located in Marietta, Ga. I have been caving for
about 22 years a great adventure that started as Boy Scout. I started
caving as a young boy but it wasn't until I was about 19 that I realized
I was Born to Cave and its true not a day goes by that I don't think
about caving, sad but true of course it's true of everyone who was
born to cave. In these past 22 years of caving I have been in caves
from Mexico to Tennessee and even to Austria. I must say it has been
great.
I have been a photographer since I was about 8yrs. old by the way
I am 32. Well about 10 years ago I decided to try my hand at a little
cave photography which I believe is about the most difficult photography
there is. My site contains links to some of my work, as you can imagine
lighting huge rooms that are engulfed by total darkness is not easy.
However I feel I am doing quite well, of course I'm always buying
new and bigger flashes so I hope to improve the outcome.
I'm
a graphic artist by trade so occasionally I will play around with
the pictures and alter them. I work on a Mac. and use such programs
as Adobe Photoshop,Illustrator.
This site was created with Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks these
three programs are new to me so I am still learning I hope to have
a great site one day using these programs. The pictures you see on
this site were taken with three different cameras the newest pics
were taken with my new digital camera a Mavica
CCD1000 which in my opinoin is the greatest affordable digital
camera to date. It has all the controls you need to take great digital
pictures up to 2.1 megapixels plus it stores them on a mini CDR that
has 158MB of space and there only $5.00 each. Other pics were taken
with a Nikon 6006 using Sigma Lenses
ans 200 ISO film. Cave photography requires some rather large flashes
as you can imagine I use a sunpack 120J w/tripack rechargeable battery
and sunpack 433AF with infared focus abality. Some of the pics were
taken with a Minolta Underwater camera. Many of the pictures you will
see are posted at my free online photo album at Ofoto.com
a great place to post your digital photos and also get them digitaly
developed with outstanding quality be sure to check them out.
NOTE: The
Hollywood was recently added to my nick name by some friends in Tenn.
They thought with my new Blond look and loud clothing that I had gone
Hollywood so they amended my name to include Hollywood just a little
info for those who were wondering.
