Friday morning is when registration begins check in get your information package and go find a good site to pitch a tent or park your camper. Our Friday night fire is a great place to catch up with old friends make plans for carpooling to the big projects the following day and generally relax. Locate a project leader and sign up for a project the next day there will be motivation to achieve the project goals.

Saturday morning we form up for the projects at hand and leave out to go make a difference.

The 6th Annual Cavestock will mark the start of the 2003 TAG caving convention season on April 11-13. Link to our registration form!

Cavestock 2002
We gather together Cavers from all walks of life to share the work of improving our fragile Cave and Karst areas. We remove the carelessly discarded trash from within and without the caves. We Scrub Grafitti off natural formations, cave walls and surounding areas. We work toward learning ways of repairing broken and or damaged formations. Our projects are surprisingly fun, participation has been continually growing and the reception we generally get from the land owners has been encouraging.

Details about each project will generally be posted on the SKTF Yahoo groups prior to the event however if you go to the "Big Top"during Cavestock, project details will also be posted there. If your plans are to stay in camp on Saturday then visit the Vendors area where you will generally find all the normal caving gear, clothing, food and refreshments. We try to discourage general caving trips during the event however if you can't resist or are here visiting and are determined to see a cave not on the project lists, then be sure to sign the cave trips board to alert other potential visitors that if they visit the same cave they are likely to find you already there. This reduces overuning a cave, and allows your friends to locate you should that be needed.

Saturday Night brings the lighting of the Bonfire in T.A.G. tradition, complete with quality live entertainment and great comeraderie. Gear, clothing, food, and festivities are fun for all. Bring your lawn chairs and friends and socialize with everyone these oportunities only come a couple of times a year.

Sunday morning we will be having a "Cavestock in review" group meeting in the Big Top at 10:30 AM. If you have comments or suggestions this is the time to come forward and be heard. Sunday afternoon is breakdown time take you time and pack it up.

Cavestock's focus is on Conservation, Social Interaction, and Entertainment.

A. Conservation - Our purpose is to bring an awareness to Cavers and others that there is a need for large able body groups of Cavers to focus their efforts towards a common conservation goal. A cleaner better karst region to show to our grandchildren. One area at a Time.

B. Social Interaction - Income, education, position, political standing, and race have no advantage or disadvantage here. Leave your political views at the door and learn something new or teach something new to someone else.

C. Entertainment - We have spent time and money on a Great Stage. It is time we put it to better use. Everyone is encouraged to submit a request for open mike time on our stage at Cavestock. We have time slots booked for professionals but our long term plan is to have multiple entertainers all weekend, so send in a tape, CD or Mpg of your act, and we'll choose the best of the submissions for a time slot.

If you need further information about dates and times check the Registration Page. If you would like to volunteer to help prepare for Cavestock our work weekends begin 5 weekends prior to the event and work begins on Saturday mornings and lasts until Sunday afternoon. everyone is welcome. Camping is free.

We also encourage you to join the SKTF (SERA Karst Task Force) Yahoo groups for current breaking cleanup project information.
