My name is Saundra Marlee (Jaenicke) Schmitt and I was born on July 2, 1950. I
was placed, and adopted through Catholic Charities - St. Joseph, Inc. in Kansas
City, Missouri approximately 6 months after my date of birth.
Biological parents (per my adoptive mother ) were Elmer and Virginia Hudson.
I requested information in 1990 from Catholic Charities but obtained little
information (am searching medical information since my daughter is pregnant).
Biological father was 23 years old at time of adoption - German and English
descent - lacked 1 semester from graduating from college - was oldest of 7 children
( 4 sisters and 2 brothers) - dad was a truck driver and mom was a homemaker.
He had a medium complexion with brown curly hair and eyes (5'10", 160
pounds).
Biological mother was 18 years old - English, Scottish and French descent -
high school education. She was 1st of 2 children and her parents divorced when
she was 11 years of age. Her father was a cook and her mother was a switchboard
operator (was hospitalized with T.B. from 1944-1948).
This is the information I have obtained from Catholic Charities but it has left
me devoid of any medical information (which I requested). I would appreciate

I was a twin. I was born spontaneously and prematurely at my birth

I was born July 20, 1966 at Waldo General Hospital in Seattle, Wa. The doctor
who delivered me was a Dr. Larry Hoover from Edmonds, Wa. A Dr. Gordon Brusso
approached my adoptive mother and inquired if she was interested in adopting a
baby that he had, she said yes. Dr. Brusso came to her home with some papers
and had her sign them, he then received money for me. He told my adoptive
mother that he had an attorney handling everything and she never went to any
court hearing nor did she receive any final adoption papers (as those that my
younger adopted sister has). My birth certificate is an original one which
shows my adoptive parents as my biological ones...My adoptive parents are
Norman and Mary Springer. My adoptive mother was never told anything about my

I really have no
information regarding my adoption that I can be sure of. My birth certificate
says 7-5-45 Colorado General Hospital. It also says there was no attending Dr.
or mid-wife and is attested to by my a-mom. When I found out I was adopted my a-mom
said my birth parents had left me in a hotel room and the court took me away
from them. But, then one time she said she wasn't even sure they were married.
My birth mom was supposed to be Indian and my birth dad tall and blond and in
the service. I found no record in Denver papers about a baby being left in a
hotel room but I did find one baby girl born to a couple at the Clayton Hotel
on 7-6-45 or that was the date on the paper.Their name was Mercer. I have
birthday cards and a photo of a man that a-mom said was the Judge who signed
papers. Seems very odd that he would send birthday cards but anyway it looks
like his name is Stover. Have heard rumors of a black market ring in Denver
during the war years involving a welfare case worker, a woman that ran a
foundling home and some judge. Basically they stole poor peoples children and
sold them. I know that every timee I tried to talk about it with a-mom she'd
end up in tears and once told me "I'd open a caan of worms better left
alone" what-ever that means. I guess all I know for sure is if someone
lost or gave away a baby girl somewhere the summer of 1945 and would like to

ADOPTEE iso bfam--bmoms name at the time of my birth MARTHA E. (VICKI) OMWAKE.
DOB 09-09-33 born in Ft. Sheridan, IL. It is not verified if Omwake is a
married name or maiden name...i have info that says it could be either. One
known half sister, CHERYL DOB 12-29-54 born in Rolla, MO. Social Services in CA
has told me that Omwake was Vickis 3rd married name and that Cheryl was
beleived to be from the 2nd marriage. Vicki or Cheryl, if youre reading this i
want you to know that ive been searching for you for a very long time...over 23
years. Its been an off and on situation because i never knew what to do with
all the info that i have. i want you to know i do not intend to disrupt your
lives, but id like to meet you and any other siblings i might have. Vicki, you
should remember my adopted name, date of birth, adopted parents names, etc...i

Information according to my "original birth certificate" is :
Adoptee's Birth name, Mary Ellen Shoemaker.
Bmom's name, Margaret Shoemaker.
Bmom's age at time of my birth, 20.
Bmom's DOB, 1930 (approx.)
I was adopted around the age of 2-3 by a couple in their mid 40's. Their names
were
Richard and Gertrude. Gertrude had premature white hair. The adoption was
final,
6/26/56. I have blue-hazel eyes, freckles and I am 5 foot 2 inches tall. I was
skinny
and had thin red-blond hair when adopted. I believe the adoption was handled by
Catholic
