Commonwealth Outlaws
THE OUTLAWS ARE SPONSORED BY COMMONWEALTH LACROSSE COMPANY
The Commonwealth Outlaws is a Boston-based lacrosse club that is affiliated with the USCLA (United States Club Lacrosse Association). The Outlaws play in the Yankee Division of the USCLA, which includes high caliber teams such as AST, Gillete Global LC, and Suffolk LC. Many of the Outlaws are post-Division 1 and present Pro lacrosse (N.L.L.) players. Members of the Outlaws have played at powerhouse lacrosse colleges such as UMASS, Virginia, North Carolina, UNH, Springfield College, Nazareth, and Syracuse. In 1998 the Outlaws had five of their players obtain All-Northern-club status. Brendan Glass received 1st team Attack honors for the Northern division in his first year in the league. At the midfield, Bill Edell(ex-Boston Blazer's Standout) and Brian Silcott also received the honor of First team. Also Gerry Byrne(Defense) and Dave Evans(Attack) achieved second team honors in the Northern Division. The Outlaws also feature current professional players such as Randy Fraser, All-League Nominee of the New York Saints, and Brian Silcott of the Buffalo Bandits. A number of other players showcased their talents for the Boston Blazers, before the team was terminated in 1997. The Outlaws home turf is located on the campus of Wentworth College on Huntington Avenue in Boston.
The Outlaws are sponsored by Commonwealth Lacrosse Company(800-LIV-4LAX), a Weymouth, MA based lacrosse store, and Player's Choice Lacrosse (800-224-5785), a high profile lacrosse company that runs lacrosse camps throughout the year. The Outlaws are also affiliated with Brine Co. at (800)227-2722.
