Coming Next Sorting Out the Steering - Part 1

As you can see this section is in two parts mainly because I suspect this is going to be the most fiddliest part of the build. As mentioned in update 13 you need to add a steering column that has either a collapsible type or a two universal joint type specified in the SVA. I have opted to use a Maestro column as you can see in the photo above. The idea is that you weld the old mini column onto the cut down Maestro 2 universal joint column. But first of all you need to create two new fixing points for the old mini column. I should say I have studied a few photos on the Sprint Site on Yahoo to glean a few ideas. |
| As you can see the old mini steering column was fixed in two place the mounting bracket at the back of the plastic shroud and at the bottom of the column directly onto the steering spleen. |
