Henry Haynes/ Haines (8 Dec 1759-1 Feb 1842PA) private in a Pennsylvania unit; married Elizabeth Ort. Both Henry and Elizabeth were buried in the Reformed Churchyard, Maytown, Lancaster County, PA. At age eighteen he enlisted as a soldier in the Revolutionary Army and was a guard to Hessian prisoners which were captured at Trenton. He was attached to Col. Boie's company in his expedition up the Susquehanna to subdue the Indians and also served as Captain of a company of PA Militia during the 1812 period. He was appointed a Justice of the Peace and was a member of the Pennsylvania Legislature.

Thomas Haines (1760-18 Feb 1847NH) enlisted at Loudon, Merrimack County, New Hampshire in Captain Frye's Company, Colonel Cilley's New Hampshire Regiment. He was marched to Ticonderoga and severely wounded in September 1777 at Bemis Heights. From there he was taken to a hospital in Albany where he remained for 13 months and then taken to another hospital where he remained for 6 months. In the spring of 1779 he was discharged personally by General Washington. He was an invalid pensioner in 1813, and applied in 1833 while a resident of Concord, New Hampshire. Married Hannah Lord 17 Mar 1784 Exeter, New Hamsphire and she applied for a pension in 1847 while a resident of Loudon, including the births and names of her children. Bounty Land Warant # 5072 and pension W23217*  Footnote, History of Manchester, Hillsborough Co. NH by Potter, 1856, chapter 20:  After killing two British soldiers, Thomas Haynes was wounded in the side of his face by a musket ball.  It was a seveve and terrible wound carrying away eleven teeth and about one third of his tongue. Thomas laid two days on the field for dead.

Affidavit submitted stated he was discharged because of wounds he acquired as a soldier in both sides and left hand, and that his discharge papers had been signed by General Washington but has been lost prior to his death.
