Earth is the element of our universe that signifys Substance, Renewal, Regeneration We begin on this earth plane, as humans living in the firm and fixed material world. The physical plane. From that we move on to the undecided water (emotional plane). Air represents our mental plane. From that there is the highest and most rarifed (spiritual plane) fire. I would like to stress that this is not a list in order of importance, it is perhaps more like a journey! If you find you do have a distinct preference for or even an aversion to any one element, it would be best at this stage to try to leave that opinion behind. All elements are equal and locked together in perfect harmony. To have favorites at this stage would throw you slightly off balance. Try to appreciate all the different feelings the elements bring into your life, and let your observation of them be fair. We spend most of our time in this material plane which is the EARTH (the first of the 4 elements to balance our spiritual selves). Like the seasons which allow us to live in Harmony with the Universe, the elements help us create a balance. Each element is a step in spiritual growth with the divine source. The Element of Earth helps us merge that balance with our everyday world. As we see mentally that we are one with our surroundings, it enables us to open up to our true being Everything is connected. Earth, Water, Fire and Air are the four elements which help to create balance with the self. Once we maintain a balance we are able to use our true self to enhance our psychic ability and open up to universal laws, the almighty source of all that is, and divine timing. As you will see, all the other elements come to rest on solid earth, earth is the beginning of the journey forward. Water may be rich but earth is richer. Earth is more generous too, slowly forming and reforming all the shapes of the animal, vegetable and mineral kingdom Earth moves slowest, lasts the longest, and resists change. Earth is rock and minerals and is definately here for ever. Earth is the foundation for the remaining 3 elements; the flow of Water, the gentle breeze of Air, and the warmth and power of Light. Believe it or not, light itself is invisible! It only become light when it strikes something solid that you know it is actually there. The space between the sun and earth is filled with light, streaming inwards, but you can't see it until it touches the hardness of earth. In the human, the sense of touch is a starting point for knowing earth. Textures of all kinds help awaken earth appreciation. The feel of different fabrics is an earth sensation. Food and taste are also earth sensations.
As you progress on your spiritual journey, you will find the more spiritual you become...the more privimative your soul will be. It will revert back to the physicality of the earth, the ground, the leaves, nature. You may even begin to understand that medical healing is derived from nature's herbs and gifts. It will be instinctive in you, you will become one with the earth. You can begin to see nature as your mirror image, a distinct thread that is woven into every area of your life. |
