This Randolph Line is perhaps the most prominent of the Randolphs in America. Conventional research convinced me that we were descended from this line, but the results from DNA testing has proven otherwise. However, I am including the results from this research on this web page because I didn’t want to just throw it away.
Generation No. 1

1. William² Randolph (Richard¹ Randoll) was born 1572 in England, and died 1660 in England. He married (1) Elizabeth Smith Abt. 1600 in England. He married (2) Dorothy Lane Abt. 1615 in England, daughter of Richard Lane and Elizabeth Vincent.

Thomas³ Randolph, born 1605 in England; died 1639 in England.

4. Henry Randolph I³ (William², Richard¹ Randoll) was born 1623 in Haughton, Northhamptonshre, England, and died 1673 in Henrico Co., VA. He married (1) Elizabeth Unknown 1652. He married Judith Soane 1661 in Henrico Co., VA, daughter of Henry Soane and Judith Fuller. After Henry's death in 1673, Judith married Peter Field whose daughter, Mary Field, became the grandmother of Thomas Jefferson. For other ancestors of Judith Soane, switch to the Soane line.

5. William⁴ Randolph (Richard³, William², Richard¹ Randoll) was born 1648 in England. He married Mary Isham.

9. Henry II⁴ Randolph (Henry I³, William², Richard¹ Randoll) was born 1665 in Henrico Co., VA, and died 1693 in Henrico Co., VA. He married Sarah Swann December 16, 1687 in Henrico Co., VA, daughter of Col. Thomas Swann and Mary Mansfield.

14. Henry Randolph III⁵ (Henry II⁴, Henry I³, William², Richard¹ Randoll) was born 1689 in Henrico Co., VA, and died 1726 in Henrico Co., VA. He married Elizabeth Eppes March 29, 1714, daughter of Francis Eppes and Anne Isham. For other ancestors of Elizabeth Eppes, switch to the Eppes line and the Isham line. Elizabeth's last two children were twins, born some six months after the death of her husband, Henry III. She named them Grief and Mourning.

12. Jane⁶ Randolph (Isham⁵, William⁴, Richard³, William², Richard¹ Randoll) was born February 20, 1719/20 in VA. She married Peter Jefferson, son of Thomas Jefferson and Mary Field. For other ancestors of Peter Jefferson, switch to the Jefferson line.
