One-Round Scrunchie

Materials:
Worsted weight yarn (cotton or acrylic) and a size F or G hook OR Lustersheen (or any sportweight yarn) and a size D or E hook OR Size 10 crochet cotton thread and a size 4 or 5 hook, ponytail elastic (any size)
Round 1: Attach yarn to the elastic with a sl st, ch 8, hdc in the 2nd ch from hook (trtr around the elastic, ch 2, hdc in the side of the top of the last trtr) as many times as desired until scrunchie is the desired fullness. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
