Tigers

I consider Tigers to be among my most shamanic collages. As I worked on it, I could literally smell the bodies of tigers in the room. While most of my collages have required at least 40 hours to complete, the images of this one fairly leapt out at me and I was able to create this piece in 2 days.

Radix

This collage delves into a mythical and mischievous underworld of life inchoate:

"Darkness is a condition of the beginning. The body first comes into being in darkness. It is nurtured, as a seed, in darkness. Some people may find their healing in remembering the darkness."

-- Rachel Naomi Remen, Kitchen Table Wisdom

Holy Water

This collage came to me in a dream: I was in a wooded park and glanced into the distance to behold the most monumental, magnificent waterfall I had ever seen. I was absolutely transfixed. When I awoke, I created Holy Water, which now graces my dining room wall.

Consecration

The incarnate soul's consecration to the flow of life from birth to death, innocence to wisdom, inception to completion...

The following quote appears within this collage:

"Each of us inevitable,
Each of us limitless--
each of us with his or her right upon the earth,
Each of us allow'd the eternal purports of the earth,
Each of us here as divinely as any is here."

--Walt Whitman,
Salut Au Monde!

Viridian

One of my greatest childhood joys was spending hours alone in the woods. I especially loved streams and creeks. To me, Viridian evokes both the healing tranquility and fierce mystery of nature.
