In some isolated cases, mIRC is unable to correctly input the user's IP address and Local Host value. These two values are necessary for you to log on to an IRC server. To check if mIRC is receiving the correct information, first try connecting. Click on the FILE menu, then SETUP, then click on the LOCAL INFO tab. If the LOCAL HOST box contains 3 sets of numbers, separated by dots, and followed by "-ipt.aol.com", then the info is correct. If it contains some other info, then read on. Since mIRC isn't able to pick up the correct information, you will need to manually enter this. First, uncheck the "On connect, always get the LOCAL HOST" box. Visit the IP Address web page and copy and paste the Local Host and IP values into the proper mIRC Local Info box. |
