Mohair

Normally angora goats are shorn twice a year, since angora goat fiber grows at about an inch a month this results in fiber a bit shorter or longer than six inches in length.  We have been receiving quite a few requests for longer fiber from doll makers.  In order to serve the needs of doll makers we are going to be changing our shearing schedule to obtain longer fiber.  Holding the animals longer between shearings, particularly the colored ones and those with colored backgrounds and little grease content, will mean increased fleece losses from felting.  Although longer fiber will be targeted at doll makers, it is still suitable for hand spinning but will carry a premium price.  Watch our samples and this page for extra long fiber.

	White adult 2-2: curly, some noticeable grease $7 lb 2 lbs available
	White adult 2-6L this is one of our longer fleeces, just at that 6" dividing line that separates "regular" fleeces from those suitable for doll hair.  2.25lbs at $7 lb
