Elisha Cook, Sr. and part of the family moved to Paris, Oneida Co., NY before 1800.
* Kirkland, Oneida County, New York was separated from Paris, NY in 1822.

I started building a database of my COOK relatives in Oneida County in the early 1800's,
researching indexes, gazetteers, censuses, deeds, wills, churches, cemeteries, etc.
Finally, I was able to trace my Cook line by going through deeds on microfilm.

I am a descendant of their son:
MOSES COOK, SR. -6
In 1801, Moses Cook and his wife Abigail became members of the First Congregational Church in Clinton, Oneida Co., NY. Moses purchased and inherited land in Kirkland, Oneida Co., NY, that was originally part of Coxes Patent. His wife, Abigail (?), and their children sold several acres in the late 1830's, after his death. Their neighbors included the family of Elihu Cook (wife Sally), Benjamin Barns, and John Green.
