My late husband Preston, 1/8/59-3/17/97 was the essence of life. I am forever wondering why at such a young age (38) and vital time in his life that he suddenly die from a massive stroke. Without a hint of sickness or warning, he appeared to be the picture of health. Always laughing and joking, he was the life of the party!!!

Preston lived basically all of his life in the Kansas City area, except when he served in the US Army  stationed at Fort Ord in California as a specialist IV. He received a decoration as a Marksman for the rifle. He graduated from Paseo High School in 1977 and we met in college in 1981. It was practically *love* at first sight. Preston enjoyed life very much and I enjoyed life with him. He liked all sports especially basketball, as a spectator and a participator. Actually, March was his favorite time of the year due to "March Madness", ironically, he died in that month. He was a football fan too. We played video and computer games and was fierce competitors with each other, kept me on my toes :-). Hey, we played a lot!. But he was still a little bit better than I was. We would discover new things together, as you do playing computer games, we would learn from each other's mistakes. We had a lot of fun. He could have a good time for sure.

He had always looked out for everyone else, especially me, I knew he would do anything in the world for me...He told me that many times. We loved to sing and dance together. He was quite a jokester too, sometimes I never knew when to take him seriously. He would play cute tricks on me. He had a smile that wouldn't quit and a laugh to be remembered!

He leaves to cherish his memory a grand host of relatives and friends. He was truly loved and will be truly missed by us all. We Love You Preston!

Fort Ord California 1979

He was employed at Western Missouri Mental Health Center (State Hospital) as the supervisor of the receiving department. Preston received numerous awards and 2 promotions for his efforts there. He made a lot of friends over the years and was well liked, he was known through out the hospital to be kind and thoughtful with a willingness to work and get the job done. He was employed at WMMHC for 11 years. Thanks WMMHC for all of your support and help and I know you will miss him as a friend and an integral part of the hospital.
