Many clubs are blessed with a cartoonist and we have a great one in the form
of Bill Mycock. Very prolific, he amuses us all with his keen insights to things
going on in the club.
From time to time as well as giving amusement he highlights important safety
points. here are a few of his gems, all triggered by actual incidents.

In an easterly wind we fly from 09 and the landing area is 100 yds from the
cliff edge over which there is a large downdraught. The mandatory circuit is
right hand only, higher than normal and do not go back beyond the cliff edge. It
means a tight circuit and lots of airbrake and it's really good for sharpening
up circuits. If you get it wrong, apart from a big fright, the CFI's always
watching (same thing really)

If you don't believe us, this is a view from a power plane approach to 09. The
landing area is the first piece of grass to the left of the runway.
The
correct order of "cable on"

The cartoonist is poking fun at himself here
There is another airfield which looks very similar to Perranporth
(apart from more runways, buildings and a radar dome!) about 5 miles
further down the coast. For those not paying attention BEWARE!

I don't remember what generated this fantasy, so obviously it refers to me.
And then of course there is the purely whimsical
