Survey Results

12/3/99 - 6/30/01

At the end of 1999 I decided to ask players some general questions about the sport.  I was curious as to who these players are, and I wanted to get some of their thoughts about the sport.

During the 18 months the survey ran, 212 players throughout the world took their time to answer my questions.  So, according to your replies, the typical wallyball player's profile is as follows:

Gender

 Male

Skill Level

 Advanced

Plays Wallyball

 Once a week

Started Playing Wallyball In

 1991

Leagues

 Has played in a league

Tournaments

 Has played in a tournament

Prefers to play

 Men's Doubles

Introduced to the Sport

 Through friends or family

Likes best about the Sport

 The speed/quickness/pace/action of the sport

How to improve sport

Need to get more players involved

Lives In

  California, USA

In addition, the typical player:

Believes that wallyball rules do not need to change just because volleyball rules change

Believes that women should be allowed to play wallyball with men.

Says that interest in wallyball in his/her area is low, very low, non-existent, zero, zip.

Says that most people indicate the wallyball "sounds interesting" when told about the sport.

Never received any tutoring in the sport prior to playing.

Believes that more players will get involved if current players "talk it up" with their friends.

Now, this profile probably doesn't match your profile since it is an average of all the responses received. If you would like to see all the responses, click here
