Sunday Walks

Non-members are very welcome to attend up to 3 walks on a Sunday before being required to join the Ramblers' Association.  No need to book - just turn up at Much Park Street, Coventry at least 10 minutes before the departure time.

The journey to the start point is made by car. It is normal to share a car and pay the driver a voluntary contribution towards the cost* - so you don’t need to have your own transport.

Bring food and drink for the whole day, waterproof clothing and stout walking boots.  Also, bring a change of shoes for the return journey and a carrier bag for those muddy boots.

The shorter walks tend to be at a slower pace.  If you are not an experienced rambler, you should try these first.

Walks Organisers:          Up to 7 miles: Lynda Wells        024 76272969
                                          Over 8 miles:  John Garrett       024 76461181

If you want to join the walk at the start point, please contact the Organiser who may have details.

* Recommended voluntary contribution to driver: A=£1.50  B=£3.00 C=£4.50 D=£5.50 E=£6.50

  • Non-members may attend up to three Sunday walks before being required to join the RA
  • Walkers attend at their own risk, without liability to the Ramblers’ Association or the leader
  • Do not go ahead of the leader unless instructed to do so
  • Dogs are not allowed on rambles
  • Suitable clothing and footwear are essential
  • Please share transport to the start point
  • Always observe the Countryside Code
All sporting events and leisure activities have inherent hazards associated with them and rambling is no exception. In spite of the safety of members always being of paramount concert, accidents will occasionally occur. It is important that when entering into the activity, each member appreciates they have a responsibility to identify the hazards associated with the activity and to take all reasonable steps to eliminate or minimise the potential for an accident to arise.

Please make sure that you are fit enough to undertake the walk you intend to join. If you're unsure of your fitness level, try a short and easy walk first: it's much better to find a walk a little too slow and easy than to make yourself miserable and exhausted.

Most of our walks are off-road in rural areas. Please have suitable footwear and clothing for the walk you intend to join - leaders may refuse to accept participants who in their opinion are inadequately equipped or unfit.

For your own and others' safety please abide by any advice, guidelines and instructions given by the walk leader. Though walking is inherently one of the safest outdoor activities, no activity is completely without risk and it is your responsibility to behave sensibly and to minimise the potential for accidents to occur.
