The Christian Police Association
You may never have heard about us before, but now is the chance to put that right as we introduce ourselves.____________________________________________________________________ Why CPA?Well, why not? Some people think that being a Police Officer and a Christian are incompatible. This normally arises from the misconception that Christians in the Police Service would have to compromise their faith, but this is not so. We believe that by maintaining a strong relationship with God, we can overcome temptation, and fellowship with other believers doing the same job is a means to that end. On this page you will find brief information about the subjects listed below. For further information click on the headings. If you would like to contact us, our address is at the bottom of this page. _________________________________________________________________________ Our History
Police Institutes (the forerunner of police clubs) were opened as places where off duty single officers could go to, relax and hear the good news of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Today, the convalescent homes are still in existence but the need for the school and orphanage is no longer there. The CPA is, and has always been a charitable organisation, solely dependent on the free-will offerings of members and friends. It is a registered charity within the United Kingdom (No. 220482).
______________________________________________________________________ The aim of the Christian Police Association is threefold: Firstly, to promote and foster the fellowship of Christians in the police service in that unity which is enjoyed by those who are born again by the Spirit of God. Secondly, to demonstrate this relationship to God in a concern for righteousness both on and off duty. Thirdly, to obey Christ in proclaiming His Gospel, especially to members of the police service that they might be brought to know Him personally. _______________________________________________________________________ Our StaffThe Christian Police Association has two full time staff and one part-time member of staff who seek to promote the work and encourage members throughout the United Kingdom. In the UK there are over 40 Branches of the CPA which correspond to Force areas. Overseeing the work is a National Council made up of serving and retired police officers. The Branches are led by serving police officers who give their spare time to encouraging the work in their local Force area. The current president of the CPA is a serving Assistant Chief Constable. ______________________________________________________________________ How to contact us:
