Welcome!

Welcome to Mary Creason’s Aviation Website!  Since Mary’s solo flight in an Aeronca Chief in May of 1943, flying has been her passion.  She has worked in aviation in many capacities: flight instructor, charter pilot, fixed base operator, airport manager, and for state government as editor, aviation education, safety coordinator and as administrator.  Mary retired from the workplace in 1989 and since that time has been an active volunteer in aviation education, safety, mercy flights, and more. This website reflects her continuing interest and involvement in aviation. You may wish to bookmark this page so that you can easily return and visit here anytime. - Pam Pohly, Website Creator

We created this website as a resource for you, my colleagues and friends, both old and new, so that we all may share information and our love of flying. I welcome everyone’s ideas and suggestions. I look forward to hearing from you. - Mary Rawlinson Creason

High Flight
by John Gillespie Magee, Jr.

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth

     And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth

     Of sun-split clouds – and done a hundred things

You have not dreamed of – wheeled and soared and swung

     High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,

I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung

     My eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue

     I’ve topped the windswept heights with easy grace

Where never lark, or even eagle flew.

     And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod

The high untrespassed sanctity of space,

     Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
