Chris Reed's Karaoke Home Page Home of the best KAR files on the net! This page is nothing more than an archive now. My love for karaoke still lives, but I've gotten more and more modern with my karaoke. What used to be the easiest way to sing karaoke is no longer the best way to sing karaoke. While KAR files are still good for those people with older systems, I've grown to love the more modern MP3 and CDG style of karaoke, which is more like the kind of karaoke you see in your local karaoke bar and/or club. I'll still keep the page posted here for those of you still looking for KAR files, but don't expect a whole lot more updates anytime soon! If you really want to find A LOT of KAR files to use, check out www.midikaraoke.com. Enjoy! Do you love music? Do you love to sing? Do you not have the guts to stand up in front of a crowd of people at a karaoke bar and belt out a tune? Then here's your solution -- karaoke through your PC! With a few simple programs, you can be singing to your heart's content, all in the privacy of your own home. And with these links, you'll find some of the best songs EVER to sing to! By the way, if you have any problems downloading the files, click this link for step by step directions on what you need to do and how to do it. Thanks for being visitor number since this counter was installed on October 3, 1999. WHAT YOU'LL NEED If you want to be able to sing with your computer, you're going to need a few small things. A decent MIDI player. The one I like the best is Windows Media Player, as it plays KAR files, as well as just about any other media file out there. If you need it, click here to get it. A karaoke player for your computer. There's a couple out there, but the best one, in my opinion, is WinKaraoke Player for Win95. It has a bouncing ball to follow, and is easy to use and understand. If you need it, click here to get it. The songs themselves. And that's what this site is for. :) ABOUT THE KAR FILES All of these I consider some of my favorites. You'll find I lean mostly toward 70's and 80's pop, but there are also some older and newer songs on here too. Not only will you find some great KAR files here, but a few I've even made myself! Yes, with a little time, patience, and the right combination of materials, I can create some great karaoke music as well! Be sure to look for the ones labeled ; I think they're some of the best! SUPPORT MY SITE!!!!! If you like what you see here, please click on these links and visit some of my well-loved sponsors! :) LISTING OF KAR FILES GROUPED AND ALPHABETIZED I've done my best to organize these songs by some kind of song format. Some of them are repeated in certain sections, for example between love songs and soft rock, but this was the best way I could think of to make the songs easier to search by. Just click on a link to jump you to the section you're looking for! P.S. -- If you're having problems figuring out how to download the files, click here for some how to instructions!
