This film starts out with "In
the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth...". There is a
series of explosions as the earth is created. Then we see the planet
earth - newly born and cooling rapidly..."
The seas rise, and life begins. Footprints of The Creature are
shown in the sand.
We move to fifteen million years later where a group of people are
riding through the lagoon on a boat named "Rita". They stop to fish,
and Julia Adams takes a dip in the water. Little does she know that
there is a fiendish creature watching her from the murky depths. He
swims below her as she moves back towards the boat. After she climbs
aboard, he gets caught in the fishing net and rips a huge hole in it.
Two divers decide to investigate. The Gillman grabs one of them and
wrestles with him under water as the other man attacks the creature with
a speargun. The first diver floats to the top, dead.
The boat moves on and comes upon a tree blocking the way. While
stopped in the water, the Creature climbs aboard and kidnaps Julia Adams.
He takes her to his cave as Richard Carlson follows with a spear gun.
He find her semi-conscious on a rock, and the Creature attacks. He
picks up Carlson, and Nestor Paiva and Antonio Morino fire their rifles
at him. He walks out onto the beach, gasping for breath, and
swims away. |
