First arriving companies reported large amounts of fire coming from the Dollar Store in a strip mall at 13 Mile and Hayes. Engine Company 5, led by Doug "Double D" DeSantis used excellent strategic positioning and an aggressive attack to contain the fire to the store of origin and preserve several businesses directly attached to the store. A team effort by all responding companies resulted in a quick extinguishment and minimal damage to surrounding businesses. Job well done and an "atta boy" to all. |
