FOR SALE: 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback

This is an original California car.

A brief description of the condition of the Barracuda for sale is below.

EXTERIOR

Paint is original factory green/gold with a few dings here and there, nothing major. There is, however, no rust whatsoever. Original driver-side side-view mirror was replaced with modern, matching driver-side and passenger-side mirrors. Fortunately, original chrome mirror comes with the car and may be reinstalled.

INTERIOR

Interior has original, cream-colored, wool velveteen upholstery and is stock except for a factory add-on air-conditioner and recently added Sony cassette radio with door speakers. In every other respect, the interior is stock.

ENGINE

273 cubic-inch V-8 engine is in pristine condition, really hauls and was completely rebuilt in February of 2002. Automatic transmission. Rebuilt engine has fewer than 1,500 miles; has approximately 125,000 original miles.

OTHER

Entire brake system was replaced in 2001.

HISTORY

The car was originally purchased off the lot by a couple of artists living in Benicia, California (in the North Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area) in the fall of 1965. (The wife wanted the car's drop-back-seat to transport canvases.) The couple rebuilt the engine during the 1980s, but drove it very little. By 1995, the then 85-year-old couple sold the car to us. We are the second owners.

It was driven from San Francisco to New York in an adventure chronicled in a feature article for P.O.V. Magazine. It has never been rodded or raced. Records of mechanical repairs dating back to 1986 are available. This car has been pampered and babied. Since coming to New York, it has been garaged indoors and only driven once or twice each month.

We're selling this car in preparation for a move. You won't find another Cuda this clean anywhere on the East Coast; you can't drive a single block without turning heads! Great lines, awesome back window, super high style - don't settle for less. You can drive this storied vehicle away immediately.
