From obituary notice in St Tammany _______, Covington, Louisiana no date    clipping from Sallie Belle: "...It is with feelings of intense sorrow that we write this tribute of respect to the memory of our dear brother in the Lord, Lewis R. Featherstun, who died in the faith, Friday, October 19, 1883, at the parsonage of the M. E. Church South, Yuba City, California. "Lewis R. Featherstun, son of Rev. F.M. Featherstun, was born March 16, 1851, in Shelby County, Ill. He was licensed to preach in the summer of 1873.In the fall of that year he joined the Mississippi Conference on trial. Work was given him on the Covington (Louisiana) circuit. The next year he was happily married to Miss Annie L. Smith of Covington, La., who, with four children survives him.    "In 1876 he was on the Cane Ridge circuit; in 1877, Rocky Springs circuit; in 1878, Waynesboro circuit; in 1879, Yazoo circuit. He was in very delicate health, and was thus sent from point to point to see what benefit he could derive from the change. Experiencing no permanent benefit so far, he concluded to try the pacific coast, and in 1879 he was transferred to the Los Angeles Conference, and was put in charge of the Lompoc circuit. In the fall of 1880 he was again transferred, this time to the Pacific Conference, and appointed to Wheatland circuit. In 1882-3 he was in the Yuba City circuit.
