Illustrated Encyclopedia of Pterosaurs is a traditional approach, based on the axiom of ancient extinction. One of these Amazon.com book reviews, however, (not this book) does mention the ropen (an apparently living pterosaur). (See Searching for Ropens.) |

Another Amazon.com set of book reviews, is on the cryptid book Searching for Ropens — Living Pterosaurs in Papua New Guinea. Almost half of the reviewers give this cryptozoology book five stars: those who don’t seem to be upset about the religious tone (Christian foundation). |
