Mark Fidrych
The Bird
20

1976 American League Rookie of the Year
24 Complete Games
2.34 Earned Run Average

Known mostly for talking to the ball, getting on his hands and knees to manicure the mound and the brevity of his career. Mark "The Bird" Fidrych stands out amongst baseball many legends. Fidrych's unorthodox style to the game kept opposing batters guessing and Tiger fans thrilled. Although he was injured for the majority of his major league career The Bird maintained .604 lifetime winning percentage and is only one of only three Tigers to win the Rookie of the Year award
