Dark Shadows Supernatural Page
NOTICE: A couple
of months ago, NBCi, where I had housed the majority of my Dark
Shadows Web pages
and files, closed down its site to home pages. They did
this without giving
me any notice, so now most of my links at fly.to/bat.net
are orphaned
I've just caught
up on my "real" life enough to start thinking about what I
want to do with
the site. What I need to know from you is what do you want to
see back on the
site? It's going to take a lot of reformatting on my part, so
I need to know what
you really care about!
Thanks!

I am Nicholas Blair,
(au 22kHz 21k) and I'll be your host on this tour of World Wide Web
sites that have a legend or literary connection to the long-running daytime
serial Dark Shadows.
As you probably know, the show's producers and writers - how shall I say - borrowed from a variety of sources on the supernatural.
![]() Forefront among the storylines of Dark Shadows, of course, was that of the tale of Barnabas Collins, the reluctant vampire and hopeless romantic. I had a rather adversarial relationship with Barnabas. He was too much of a do-gooder for my tastes. At any rate, the character of Barnabas was drawn from vampire legends (HTML version) of Eastern Europe and from Bram Stoker's Dracula. (HTML version) |
![]() Adam, the artificial man, was created from human body parts and Barnabas' life force. Does this sound familiar? Mary Shelley, author of the novel Frankenstein(HTML version) would no doubt think so, too. Ah, Adam. I had such great hopes for that boy! |
![]() In 1970 Parallel Time, meek scientist Cyrus Longworth became the evil John Yaeger - my kind of guy - by drinking a potion. Fans of Robert Louis Stevenson will recognize this storyline from The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. (HTML version) |
![]() Both Quentin Collins and Chris Jennings suffered from a werewolf (HTML version) curse. When the moon was full, they turned from men into howling, hairy beasts. |
![]() Throughout the run of Dark Shadows, witchcraft (HTML version) was a common theme. You could even say that some people were known to lose their heads over it! |

As a fire engulfs PT Collinwood, Barnabas sees Roxanne slip from his grasp. The Gallery contains graphics from the beginning of Dark Shadows through the end of 1970PT.

Julia Hoffman won't allow anyone to stake her Barnabas - not even another Julia Hoffman. This .MOV file is a 2 Meg download. Other video highlights from the show are periodically posted here!

2. The Picture of Dorian Gray (HTML version)- F.
3. The Turn of the Screw (231K) - D.
4. The Pit & The Pendulum (15K)- B.
5. Wuthering Heights (670K) - A.
6. The Cthulhu Mythos (HTML version) - C.
2-4 Correct: You've been spending way too much time at the Blue Whale and not paying enough attention to these storylines.
0-1 Correct: You disappoint me. And you won't like me when I'm disappointed. Just ask Angélique.

in 1969, the Philadelphia Chewing Gum Co. issued a series of David
Selby postcards. Those who are lucky enough to own one have a collector's
item worth around $70. The rest of us can enjoy a virtual reality set of
cards. Quentin Collins was introduced on Dark Shadows as a ghost
and in a homage to The
Turn of the Screw, whose ghost was named "Peter Quint."
