On our vacation to Cypress Gardens in Florida
I was so amazed by the Banyan Tree that I just
had to put together a page with nothing but
this incredible

Banyan Tree

Planted in 1936

this tree has spread to an

enormous size.

The original trunk is to the left of this picture.

The vertical growths you see are growths the tree has put down

to support the weight

of its huge limbs.

A close up view of

some of these supports.
The following pictures will

give you some idea

 of the incredible size

of this tree.

The lady in the picture said they had
seen the tree 30 years ago, and she
was amazed at how it had spread.

Another view of the tree.

Frank and I are both tall, and this
tree dwarfs both of us.

Notice Frank in the background?
Looks rather tiny doesn't he?

You can clearly see how the supports come
out of the massive limbs.
