We finally arrived in Naples, FL and settled in at
The Hitching Post RV Resort.  We had several
destinations from here.  The first day there I began
to feel like an old lady,  so we took the day off and
caught an afternoon nap!  The next morning I was
back to my normal "young" self and we were able to
visit a couple of places and even had time to see an
old friend of Frank's!

The first place we went was another swamp!
Although it was in it's winter state,  it was still beautiful.
The boardwalk is 1.5 miles and we walked it at least twice.

So, again,  you need your walking shoes to see

CORKSCREW SWAMP SANCTUARY

We began our journey
in the early morning mist.

It was so quiet 

and beautiful.

The mist began to burn
off and the day warmed up.

We decided to backpack our cameras
to make as little noise as possible.

This enabled us to catch these
immature Ibis feeding.

This Ibis acted as a guide for
a short distance!  You can see how
the boardwalk winds through the swamp.

It seemed every turn of the
boardwalk brought a

different view of the swamp.

Look close and you can see a moth
hiding on the side of this post.

The Anhinga was sunning and
making quite a racket.

I'm not sure if that smile is from
having a good time,  or relief at finding
a place to finally sit down!

The vine on this tree is a Strangler Fig.  It grows
from the top down.

Another turn of the boardwalk,
wonder what we'll see!!

It's a Heron doing a bit of fishing.

We exited the swamp at the far end
of the boardwalk...and decided to
take a short break and a picture.
