Grief

I wish I had the words to comfort you,
In all your pain and grief.

But I know there’s nothing I can say or do,
to help you find relief.

Your numbness will soon subside,
and the pain and tears will be real.

Just remember no matter what,
It’s ok to feel what you feel.

Each day may seem like a burden,
sometimes it will be hard to face.

But he will never stop loving you,
just because he’s in a new and better place

He will live on in your hearts,
you will all have memories to share.

And when your time on earth is through,
with open arms, he will be waiting for you there.

 Another hero has fallen,
Right before our eyes
As we sit there in silence,
At the horrible surprise

 All the others will be there to greet him,
Up in that heavenly place
He will live in our hearts forever,
Standin’ tall and full of grace

 He has touched our life’s forever,
In so many different ways
And now here we all sit,
In a numbness kinda haze

 But tomorrow will still come,
And it will be another day
The world will go on revolving,
In a weird sort of way

 ‘Cause another hero has fallen,
And the lord only knows why
Maybe the lord doesn’t want any heroes,
Except for him in our eyes

 Yes, another hero has fallen,

Heroes are strong, and never do wrong,
And they are never expected to die

 But most of my heroes have vanished,
Taken by the life that they’ve lead
Doers and seer’s, thinkers and believers,
So tell me why, most of my heroes are dead

 They’ll live on in our hearts forever,
Of this I can surely guarantee
‘Cause that’s where a hero lives,
Forever in eternity…..

Kristofferson Honored at Awards Gala

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Kris Kristofferson was among the stars honored at the Diversity Awards in Hollywood.

The ninth annual gala, presented by the Multicultural Motion Picture Association, recognized the actor and country singer with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The 65-year-old Kristofferson is known for his turn as the outlaw Billy in the 1973 Western ``Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid'' and for his starring role in the 1976 remake of ``A Star is Born'' opposite Barbra Streisand.

Saturday's honorees were chosen by the 1,200 voting members of the MMPA, based on their work in improving diversity on film and television, said spokesman Brad Daly.

Other entertainment professionals honored include actors Vin Diesel, Cuba Gooding Jr., Ving Rhames and Philip Seymour Hoffman, and the directing/producing team of Mike Tollin and Brian Robbins.

Director Kasi Lemmons received the Visionary Award for her work on such films as ``Eve's Bayou'' and ``The Caveman's Valentine.''

The reality show ``Survivor: The Australian Outback'' was honored as 2001's Most Diverse Television Ensemble Cast.

Showtime Networks was recognized with the 2001 Diverse Network Programming award. The cable channel has developed original programs such as ``Resurrection Blvd.,'' a Latino family drama, and ``Soul Food,'' a movie-inspired drama centered on a group of African American sisters.
