Murphy's Alexandria

Murphy's has got to be my favorite place to go in DC. Any night of the week,
the place is full of people singing and clapping and drinking Guinness and basically
acting like they're drinking in Ireland. They have live music every night, and a great
house band called Double Down. It's my favorite pub, without a doubt!
Union Street Public House
Alexandria

Union St Pub is a pretty cool place. It's got the wooden look and
feel of an old town tavern, but it's new and fixed up pretty nice. It's got a pretty laid back
crowd and friendly staff. Food is pretty good too. It's right on Union St, about 1/2
block down from King St. (703) 548-1785
Ireland's Own
Alexandria

You can always count on lively entertainment at Ireland's
Own. If you don't know all the words, you'll pick them up. The food is
good and they've set it up so that even when it gets crowded (which is
every weekend), there's still enough room to move around. (703)549-4535

Union St Pub, located in Old Town Alexandria, is a classy
place with a more laid back crowd.

Fish Market Alexandria
The Fish Market's trademark is their Scooner of beer. I'd say it's about
35-40 ounces and takes both hands to drink. It's located right off of King St, down the
hill, near the river. (703) 836-5676
Bullfeathers
Alexandria
Bullfeathers in Alexandria has the same look as the Bullfeathers on Capital
Hill, but a very different feel. The crowd here is much more rowdy and much more social.
The bartenders are constantly busy. If you get in early enough to get a table or come
for lunch, their food is very good.
Evening Star Alexandria
The Evening Star is not really in Old Town... It's located off of Mt. Vernon Ave.
But I thought it was a pretty neat place. Kind of small and cozy. All the tables have board games
built into the top. You just need
to ask the bar tender for the game pieces. We played Yatzee! for hours.
